The City Makers program has closed.
City Makers was a grant program that has backed the entrepreneurial and creative communities of our great city! It was designed to support the growth of Adelaide as a vibrant city, in line with Economic Priority 8.
It contributed to the activation of streets and laneways across the CBD, providing opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs, activating buildings and parklands, and broadening the availability of cultural activities for the wider community.
Through the program, we enabled numerous existing ventures including music festivals, small licensed venues, and exhibitions to grow and expand.
The City Makers program provided funds to help small businesses alleviate some of the cost associated with building compliance issues, including alterations to address accessibility, fire safety issues, heritage considerations and noise attenuation requirements including acoustic reports.
It also provided funds for innovative and imaginative placemaking projects including public art, street furniture, events and other activation ideas that encouraged community use and interaction in a positive way.
We helped 63 projects throughout the entire City Makers Grant Program. Check out our success stories for more.
