In the last four years, 94 new venues have popped up across Adelaide’s laneways stimulating over 1300 jobs and over $90 million in economic activity.
“Since the State Government helped bring Hub Adelaide to Peel Street and introduced small venue licensing, Peel Street has been transformed from an under-utilised laneway into one of Adelaide’s most popular spots, supporting more than 150 new jobs.” – City of Adelaide Minister, John Rau.
From our first case managed venue, Clever Little Tailor, we’ve helped many of Peel Street’s businesses to open their doors. Other great venues we’ve assisted include:
Following the success of the summertime trial closures, Peel Street permanently closed to vehicle traffic on 1 August 2017. This created a much safer environment for those on foot and has given businesses the opportunity to have further outdoor dining.
Permanent, dimmable festoon lighting has been installed on Peel Street, creating an ambiance in which patrons will want to linger longer, while feeling safe as they wander through one of Adelaide’s premier laneways.
