In the last four years, over 70 new venues have popped up across Adelaide’s laneways stimulating 900 jobs and $70 million in economic activity.

Trial summertime closures of Peel Street to vehicles in 2014 and 2017 have allowed businesses to extend trading out on to the street during the busy festival months.
Permanent, dimmable festoon lighting has been installed on Peel Street, creating an ambiance in which patrons will want to linger longer, while feeling safe as they wander through one of Adelaide’s premier laneways.
